Carter Sampson and Katja Kruit played our living room on October 13th 2024. They only met through an introduction by Carter’s booker and were playing together for the 4th or 5th time. Carter’s voice and playing style is beautiful by itself, but was complimentent in a great way by Katja’s voice and dobro.
The afternoon started with 4 songs by Katja solo, perhaps our first opening act! Then Carter joined and opened with Wilder Side.
After more great songs, among others Gold and Queen of Oklahoma, the origins of the songs Peaches were explained. It’s about Carters grandmother and great grandmother and spending time with them as a child. The longing back to the more simple times resulted in this song.
The afternoon was ended with the Queen of the Silver Dollar. Another one for the books, great music and company. Thanks to all involved.
