Brabant singer-songwriter Tom Neven creates his own universe with moving, minimalist music with his friends from ‘the Side Effect’.
The press and public responded unanimously with praise to Tom’s debut album ‘Closer’ from 2016. It delivered performances throughout the country. Highlights were the Naked Song Festival, Bitterzoet, Rotown, Muziekgebouw Eindhoven and Breda Barst. He also made his TV debut at VPRO’s Vrije Geluiden.
Now there is the follow-up album ‘Soon’. On March 17, 2024, the band proudly presented their brand new album in a sold-out hall at the Chassé Theater in Breda. Personal stories captured in 10 beautiful songs. An album with singer-songwriter music and influences of folk, Americana and classical music. Small songs: sometimes very small, sometimes a bit bigger, sometimes with a good dose of melancholy, but always with a beautiful story.
